Give us today our daily bread…
Father we are frail, weak, and temporal. We recognize our total dependence on You for every breath and every moment of our lives. We are helpless and hopeless without You. You are the source of all that is good and right. We are reminded daily of how finite we are and how infinite You are. We ask for your daily provision in our lives both physically and spiritually, and we recognize our impoverished state. Apart from You we can do nothing.

God the Father, I pray that you would make us more dependent on You; breaking us of our foolish pride, false securities and faulty reasoning. O’ how arrogant and self-determined we church can be! Humble Your people and make us truly reliant on you for all things, especially for your direction and leading in mission. Make us realize that YOU are a missionary God with a people in the world. By allowing Your people to participate in YOUR kingdom work we are truly blessed! You lack nothing, you are not devoid of anything, and You will accomplish your purposes in spite of men for the Glory of your name and for the goodness of your people.
