‘...A servant is not greater than his master’. If they persecute me they will persecute you.’ (John 15:20)
Our God is good and gracious. We each have so much to be thankful for; even in suffering. We cannot turn away from the reality of the suffering in this world. And even when we live comfortably, we must question whether or not we are truly living our lives according to the radical calling of love we have received. Our sanctification and conformity to the likeness of Jesus must include suffering; He was sent into the world as a ransom for many.

His was a life and ministry which culminated in unbelievable human suffering. So ‘If they called the Master of the house Beelzebub, how much more will they malign those of his household?” (Matt 10:25) Embrace the trials and tribulations of this world, for it is in our suffering that we are most close to Jesus. For, ‘As the Father sent me, even so I am sending you.’ (John 20:21)
